Attleboro Arts Museum Exhibits Snow Globes

The Attleboro Arts Museum presents The Calm Before the Storm, An Invitational Exhibition of Original Snow Globes.

Since 2007, The Attleboro Arts Museum has been an active partner in the City of Attleboro’s The Big Read/Attleboro’s 1 ABC reading initiative.  In this National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) program participants are encouraged to read the same book at the same time – and extend their connection to the chosen text through local arts and culture activities.

This year Attleboro will be reading “Station Eleven” by Emily St. John Mandel.  The Attleboro Arts Museum will respond to the novel with the mounting of The Calm Before the Storm – A Exhibition of Snow Globes Inspired by “Station Eleven.”  A team of invited artists will create snow globe sculptures/assemblages and 2D representations, that feature items and routine pleasures that they hold dear. Following the storyline of “Station Eleven,” the artists will capture the calm of a pre-apocalyptic world by spotlighting simple but cherished objects and scenes – and place them in the eye of an unpredictable storm.

CoolSnowGlobes is amongst the exhibiting artists September 16 - 23.
